Steffi started windsurfing at the age of 11 together with her father, an enthousiastic windsurfer. Living at Bad Waldsee, in the south of germany, where Snowboarding is rather the thing than windsurfing, they nevertheless travelled to the sea in their spare time. After her first competition („Super 8“ at Lake Garda, Italy) she came off really well and started to compete in the German Windsurf Cup and 1998 in several worldcups. After her A-levels in 1997 she decided to move to Kiel, Northern Germany, a city located at the Baltic Sea. There she studies business management and now is able to windsurf at the Baltic Sea, Klitmøller or whereever, whenever it gets windy. She loves big waves, strong winds, windsurfing with her friends whatever the conditions may look like and her hometown Kiel. Whenever she got enough money and time, she tries to escape from the cold winter in Germany to Capetown / Southafrica and the Canary Islands to be able to windsurf the whole year round. |
